Will cook meals for up to 20 residents at each service.

  • Instructor for the Direct Care Professional program.
  • Interviews and instructs staff regarding nursing specialty programs as assigned.*
  • Plan, develop, direct, evaluate and conduct monthly in-service for clinical departments. Conducts review of skill list for all employed certified nurse aides.*
  • Serves as liaison for visiting students.*
  • Organizes and keeps records of clinical staff training and skills audits.*
  • Makes recommendation to nursing policies and procedures to keep them current with regulations and standards of practice.*
  • Functions as an in-house advisor regarding standards of nursing practice and Federal and State regulations and laws.*
  • Serves as on-call supervisor in rotation as assigned.*
  • Makes recommendations regarding education resources from current educational materials.*
  • Maintains confidentiality of all resident care information to assure resident rights are protected.*
  • Works will all departments to identify and correct problem areas for the improvement of services to residents.*
  • Serves as fill-in for essential nursing positions as required, during staff absences.*
  • Keeps informed of latest State and Federal rules and regulations regarding staff education and in-service requirements.*

  • Works with Administrator, Director of Clinical Services, and Human Resources to recruit and train staff at the facility.*

  • Completes projects and assignments in a timely fashion.  Provides complete and thorough follow-up on assignments.*

    • Ensure that all CNA’s are trained under appropriate supervision of licensed or certified nursing personnel.*
    • Interprets facility policy and procedures, rules and regulations to nursing staff, students, residents, families and appropriate medical and ancillary personnel.*
    • Provides corrective instruction to staff concerning quality of care and quality of life issues, and customer service and positive image issues.*
    • Monitors and evaluates staff work behavior and performance of assigned duties.*
    • Recommends corrective counseling and disciplinary action according to established policy and procedures.*
    • Provides input to staff training needs.*

Weekend Package House Supervisor

Weekends Saturday and Sundays 6am to 6:30pm; E/O Holiday

REPORTS TO:   Director of Nursing, ADON

POSITION:   Directly oversees all aspects of operation and care for the facility.

SUPERVISES: Nurses, CNA, CMA, Hospitality Aides, Restorative Aide, Rehab Aide, care service team

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current, valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Iowa as required, or BA in related profession.
  • Previous supervising experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State long-term care regulations and laws.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
  • Computer experience or interest in learning computer skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to perform simple calculations.
  • Previous experience with scheduling preferred.

Assists in the directions of the accounting functions of the facility in accordance with current generally accepted accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to the long-term care operation.
