Update – Nov. 10, 2023
Dear Residents, Staff, Families and Supporters,
Fall has many changes…harvest, turning leaves, cooling temperatures and darkening nights! I’m not sure if the days seem shorter due to the time change or just because there are so many things happening this time of year. I have many things to update and communicate to you.
We have turned in our budget and capital to the Board for 2024. We kept the increases for residents as low as possible and below the regional averages. The new rate letters will be sent in December. Facility insurance and health insurance negotiations were extremely difficult this year. We did our due diligence. There will be changes this year. For employees, there will be additional information coming, however open enrollment will happen after Thanksgiving.
Our Covid Clinic will happen Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 8:30 a.m. We will start with Linden Place and Eichhorn Haus in the dining area and then move to the Chapel where we will bring residents from Woodland Terrace and Evergreen Arbor. The team will then move to Aspen Cottage. Meyer Pharmacy will be assisting with the clinic and we appreciate their help! These clinics will not include Eisenach Village or Anna Estates, as this gives those residents more flexibility to receive the vaccine when it works with their schedules and vaccines are more readily available than prior. If anyone has questions or would need us to come to them, please let Administrator Veronica Shea, or myself know so we can provide assistance.
Any staff who still want a flu shot may get one at the first floor nurses’ station.
We have finished our rounds of Covid testing and have no positive cases at this time. If there are no further cases we will take off our masks Monday, Nov. 20. If there are changes, they will be communicated.
Bartels is grateful for our Veterans and to all who have served. We will have a Veterans Day celebration Monday, Nov. 13, in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome!
It is hard to believe I started at Bartels on Veterans Day four years ago! The time has gone fast with many changes and challenges. The work is so meaningful and we have many dedicated staff who have adapted to the many changes and challenges. Great people make the time enjoyable and go fast!
