Dear residents, staff, families and supporters,
Bremer County continues to be at substantial transmission just like 94 other counties in the state. What this means for facilities like ours is that we continue to test staff twice a week, we test residents according to any positive cases and then report our findings to the National Health and Safety Network.
The check-in process, masks, and eye wear with close contact is required. Although this has become somewhat routine to us, it is sometimes surprising to visitors and or anyone new to our facility.
Our testing this week showed one positive staff member who had not worked in the building, and two residents on second floor of Woodland Terrace with mild symptoms. There was one reported case off campus within the Eisenach Village active living community.
When the weather is good, the staff most certainly take advantage of getting residents outside. There were several residents who achieved blue ribbons at the fair this week!
The ice cream den continues to be a favorite this time of year! We are always in need of volunteers to help with this area, so if this is something you are interested in doing please call 319-352-4540 and ask for Kara Groen. The commitment is 2 hours at a time and is an easy and enjoyable task.
We continue to work on workforce issues and are gradually hiring to fill openings! Bartels is a great place to work, so send all referrals to Amber McLey in Human Resources.
There will be an outdoor concert with the Doo Wops at the front Gazebo on August 6 from 10:00-11:00 a.m., with a rain date of August 20. There are other concerts scheduled in August and September with more information to come!
I hope everyone has enjoyed the events of Heritage Days and the Fair as the summer is going very fast!
