Dear residents, staff, families and supporters,
Our update this week includes some good news related to the Covid status at Bartels. Testing this week resulted in no positive residents and only one staff member who had not worked. The one remaining isolated resident will come out of quarantine tonight.
Worship service will return to gathering in the Chapel, as well as across campus this Sunday. Please do not attend if you are sick and we ask for no more than two visitors per resident for worship. This will include Catholic Mass and LCMS worship, which will both be held in March. I am glad we are able to make these changes with Lent fast approaching.
Group activities in Woodland Terrace and Evergreen Arbor will start with small groups on each floor or area. By the middle of March, we will go back to cross-floor activities, as long as there are no positive Covid cases.
Testing next week will continue to be the same with staff on Monday and Thursday and residents on Tuesday. The following week, I believe will bring about changes and these will be communicated.
Bartels’ employee survey process is completed, and as of today 72.6% of staff responded. Our goal was met and we will have a taco party Friday, March 4. Taco pizzas will be delivered for third shift Friday night and for weekend staff on Saturday. Thank you to all staff who participated, as I appreciate your feedback in order to make Bartels a great place to work!
Over the last few weeks we have had state surveyors, the fire marshal and our annual audit. It has been very busy here, but I am an eternal optimist. So let’s look forward to March, a few days of 50 degrees next week and then spring is right around the corner!
Sincerely,
Paula Geise, RN, MSN, CEO
