Dear residents, staff, families and supporters,

The holiday is fast approaching and there are a lot of activities happening at Bartels!

It is required I educate everyone on a few things….

At the current time in Bremer County and in the Waverly community, transmission of Covid is high. We test staff and residents when anyone has symptoms. Due to the increased risk of transmission, high volume of visitors over the holidays and not being able to test or assess if people are visiting while exposed or sick, Bartels will require visitors to wear a mask over the holiday season when visiting.

I hate to do this, however, it will help everyone stay well so residents and staff at Bartels and members of the community can continue to celebrate the season without sickness.

At the current time, we have a small number of residents with Covid on the first floor of Woodland Terrace. No other areas are impacted at this time.

Again, we have a lot of activities planned in each area over the holiday including church and music, Santa visits, making and decorating Christmas cookies and many elves running around the building spreading joy! Visitors are encouraged to participate, just make sure you are well or have not been exposed and wear a mask while here!

We are grateful and full of joy for our residents, family members and staff! It is no secret workforce has been a challenge over the last year. We are so grateful for the dedicated staff we have and how they take care of your loved ones as if they were their own family. We thank them for their service!

It is a great time of year to reflect on how being cheerful and respectful are gifts that are free! We could all use a little Christmas in a time where showing gratitude is a way we can lead by example, and recognizing for some this is a difficult time of year.

Merry Christmas to you and yours! May the true spirit of Christmas shine in your heart and light your path! Wishing you a time filled with God’s love and find you among those you love, sharing in the glories of generosity and gratitude!
