The Iowa Department of Public Health & State of Iowa is currently requiring a NO VISITORS policy at all long-term care facilities, including Bartels. Once these restrictions are lifted by the state, there will still be a phased-in approach to visitation.
Normally, Bartels has unrestricted visiting hours, and friends and family are encouraged to visit often. Children are welcome, provided an adult is responsible for their conduct. We do ask those who are ill to visit when they are feeling better.
Smoking & Alcohol Policy
Bartels is a smoke-free facility. Visitors are prohibited from smoking in any building on the Bartels campus. Alcoholic beverages may be dispensed only upon order of the resident’s attending physician.
Board games, cards, and magazines are available from the Activity Department for residents and their families. A VCR and TV is also available upon request.
Guest meals can be ordered 24 hours in advance: $6.00 breakfast and $8 dinner or supper. For children under 10, the price is $5.00 for breakfast, dinner or supper.
Private meeting rooms can be reserved for family gatherings and catered special occasions. These areas include private family dining rooms, sunrooms, conference room, lounge, community room/chapel, ice cream den, gazebo and activity room.
