Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community hosted the Run for the Good Life 5K on Saturday, May 13th.Clair Lensing, President & CEO of Security State Bank and presenting sponsor for the event, welcomed over 125 runners and walkers to the Bartels Campus. Despite high winds, enthusiastic participants gathered for the run/walk to raise awareness for the communities served by Bartels. The 5K route took runners and walkers through Eisenach Village, Bartels newest independent living community. The shorter distance walkers enjoyed the Bartels’ trail encircling the campus.
“Bartels has been a community leader for years. Their dedication and care, through the residents they serve, contributes to each person’s quality of life and well-being,” states Lensing. “The Run/ Walk gave our staff the chance to visit the Bartels campus and helped us promote wellness.”

The overall winners of the 5K are as follows: Male—1st Place: Troy Lohman, Waverly; 2nd Place: Adam Hinschoot, Cedar Falls; 3rd Place: Caleb Lines, Nashua. Female—1st Place: Lisa Peterson, Nashua; 2nd Place: Jamie Harken, Clarksville; 3rd Place: Kathy Kemming, Waverly.
